Jim Cronin was the founder of, and the drive behind Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre in Dorset, UK. Jim and his staff were known to us, and we are deeply sorry to hear of his death on March 17 2007, following a short and ultimately unsuccessful treatment for a particularly aggressive form of liver cancer.
Jim came into the lives of many people through the ITV television series Monkey Business, where day-to-day life at Monkey World is shown in all its amusing, touching, poignant and often hysterically funny ways. The 10th and 11th series came in 2007 and 2008 under a new flag - "Monkey Life". Whilst Monkey Life is every bit as funny and informed as Monkey Business, the noticable difference is the absence of narrator Chris Serle. Despite this, we thoroughly recommend watching. The original Monkey Business is continually to be seen daily on the Animal Planet channel in the UK.
